A Happy Little Girl!

Do you remember this picture?!  This was Mike's truck on April 17th, the day befor Lila's 2nd birthday!  We went and picked up her playset at Menards!

His overall goal was to have the playset completed before we left for Italy in June.  He pulled all the boards out and was going to begin working on the tower in the garage.  After mapping everything out he realized that we didn't receive the first 4 boards he needed in order to get started...so the playset quickly got pushed to the back burner with all the preparations for leaving town.

This weekend was the first weekend that we had a whole Saturday free to concentrate on getting the playset up so Lila can still enjoy it for a few months before the cold sets in!

Our yard before!
Mike's good friends Brad and Brandon were up for the builders challenge, off to work they went for the better part of the morning all the way through the afternoon.  Not one complaint out of these guys and it was HOT!!!  Lila spent the better part of her day admiring the progress from the window, just waiting to get out there and give the swings a test drive!

The final product!

Testing out the swings!

All play!
We were so thankful for the guys and their hardwork that we invited the ladies and kids to come and join us for playtime and dinner!  The kids always have so much fun together and tonight was no exception!  They were bouncing off the walls!  It is so much fun to watch!

Lila had swimming lessons yesterday and they used kickboards for the first time!  She did great, caught right on and really enjoyed it.  She is getting to be pretty confident in the water!  She is growing up so quickly!

The video below is of "Ring Around the Rosie" during swim lessons.  The parents take the kids around in a circle and on the "we all fall down!" they decide whether or not to take the kid all the way under the water.  Lila has been going under the water since we started lessons and I finally got it on tape!

We are trying to take advantage of every last bit of summer we have left!  We are looking forward to a few more exciting things yet to come, but you can bet any bit of downtime we have will be spent on our new playset!

This Little Fishy!

Saturday found us starting swimming lessons at the Marion YMCA again. Any time we brought up swimming lessons Lila would respond with a huge smile on her face and asked to do them again, so it was time to get her signed up.

Once again we are so excited to share this experience with our good friends the Holub's and their daughter Danielle. The girls have so much fun together...there is no end to the smiles and the chatter when we get back to the locker room to change out of our swim gear!

My Mom has been in town for the week, so we spent some quality time with "Grammy" and Terry.  It is pretty amazing to think the next time we see them will be for the big wedding day in September!

Grammy & Girls!

We spent the rest of the weekend catching up, both with family, but more importantly getting ourselves back on track from all the craziness we have had already this summer!  We are looking forward to things settling down a little bit and enjoying what is left of the warm weather and sunshine!

Lovin' on Daddy!
Goofing around at Grandma & Grandpa Eddins' house!

PS - Not sure what happened with some of the pictures on this post?!  Blogger has not been overly cooperative lately.

Tumble Tots!

Lila and her dear friend Henley started 'Diaper Dynamos' this last Thursday at Twiters Gymnastics.  Monica and I thought it would be something kind of fun for the girls to do together, so we got them signed up for a six week series each Thursday which will take us through the end of the summer.

Class started with the kids doing their stretches (very important) on the mats!  Then it was time to tumble!  It took awhile for Lila to catch on, but once she got the hang of it, she was having a pretty good time.

The class wasn't overly structured, so 30 minutes was long enough, Lila was ready to get in the car and head home!  I am hoping that they mix it up a bit or six weeks might be a bit long, but either way, it is a nice time for the little girls and the Mommy's to spend some quality time together!

Summertime!

We have finally been blessed with warm, consistent summer weather!  We have welcomed the weather as it has allowed us to spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors!  We upgraded Lila's pool this year -- it has a slide and an arch that water comes out of --she calls it her "sprinkles."  This pool came with two blow up dinosaurs that she LOVES!  See for yourself!

We were so looking forward to the Fourth of July weekend!  We had a lot of fun plans with friends and traditions that we were excited to continue.  Unfortunately, I was terribly sick Wednesday - Sunday, so our weekend was shortened dramatically, but we were still able to meet up with our good friends the Holub's to take in the fireworks at Ellis.  We planned a picnic style dinner, packed up our chairs, blankets and toys and headed off to find the perfect place to view the fireworks.

Our little firework!
We found our spot on the backside of the river, it was perfect!  We were the first ones there, so we had first pick, we got our little spot all made up and waited patiently in anticipation for nightfall!

Prime Location!

Picking flowers!

Sparklers!

Worth the wait!

We have had a lot of people ask us how Lila does with the fireworks, she absolutely loves them.  This year she gave all sorts of commentary during the show, letting us know each of the colors as they lit up the sky!

This Friday found us visiting Mike's hometown of Center Point.  The Booster Club was hosting an Alumni football game that the guys all wanted to watch.  The weather held out for them, but it was hot!  The Stormin' Pointers played the Vinton Vikings.  We heard that the players ranged from 20-50 years old!  I have to say, I was impressed with the turnout, both the amount of players and the amount of spectators.  (Center Point won the game 12-0).

Hangin' w/ Daddy on the field he used to play on!

The girls decided to head back to the Hahn house about halfway through the third quarter to spend some time in the air conditioning and let the little ones roam around a bit more freely!  Lila and Henley are so sweet together, it is too much fun to watch them play and communicate!

It is hard to believe that summer is half over already!  We are hoping the weather keeps treating us right and that we have a lot more fun in the sun ahead of us!
