Family Fun!

The last two weekends found us spending some time with family.  Last Sunday we went over to Jason and Jen's to swim at their new pool and have a BBQ!  It was a beautiful day to take a dip!

This Saturday found us in Guttenberg at the cabin celebrating my Grandmother's 75th birthday!  We loaded up the truck and headed north hitting a few rain showers on our way up there, but we were optimistic that the weather would end up straightening out.

We got to the cabin and Lila convinced Grandpa to go on a boat ride, so off we went.  The Guttenberg ski team was performing down by the lock, so we headed that way.  It was entertainment, that is for sure...unfortunately it was a bit more comedic than I am sure they were intending.  The rain found us again, so we hurried back to the cabin to get ready for the birthday party!

With about 30 guests Grandma marked her 75th birthday surrounded by people that love her!  I can only hope I experience all that she has by the time I am 75.  A very special Happy Birthday to my Grandmother, we LOVE you!

Weekends like this we are reminded how lucky we are to be geographically surrounded by our families.  We are truly blessed that both Mike's extended family and my extended family are close at hand, not only for us to enjoy, but for Lila to grow up with that amazing network of people loving her!
