Mike has been oh, so patient with me this year as we are on the hunt to replace our Christmas lights for the outside. We have these awesome globe lights that we got when we first moved into our house and this year as he went to plug things in most of them were totally burned out. So, on my quest to find more of those bulbs he has been biting his tongue when I come back defeated. If I want lights on the house this year, I think I am going to have to concede.
Even though I have been a pain on the majority of the lights, it didn't stop Mike from putting up our lit trees and our Santa that sits outside, much to his daughters delight!!! Even with the cold temps they couldn't resist going outside to take a peek!

December 2nd was Mike's sister, Maria's 25th birthday! We had his family over to celebrate with a homecooked dinner and a homemade cake! Lila was super excited to have everyone over to her house to show off all her toys and to help her Aunt Maria blow out the candles and of course, eat her birthday cake!

Saturday, December 3rd was the Cookies & Cocoa with Santa party at TrueNorth. This was our third annual event and we were so excited to host everyone and their families in the new building this year! We had a record turnout to enjoy the festivities and take tours of the new facility. Even Mr. and Mrs. Claus were impressed with our new home!
The kids have so much fun at this event. This year they had a wooden picture frame to decorate, sugar cookies to decorate, pictures with Santa and the opportunity to pick a toy from Santa's Workshop! Our good friends, Heidi & Troy, from StudioU Photography were there to help us document all the fun!
And just when I think the holidays can't be coming as fast as they are, one of my favorite holiday traditions came along and reminded me of how close we actually are. We had our annual cookie baking day at my Grandma and Grandpa Harvey's house today. It was a smaller group this year as Celia had a birthday party to attend and Taylor couldn't make it, but we still managed to churn out over 300 cookies in record time! YUM! Now...who the heck is going to eat them all?!?!
Lila didn't join us this year, mostly due to the fact that she is fighting off a bit of a cold. I look forward to the next few years when she can join us in this most treasured tradition! We have so much to look forward to in the next few weeks as we continue to unravel the magic of the season and spend time with our family! Stay tuned!!!
