Little Helper

I feel like a broken record, but it is amazing how all of the sudden our baby is no longer a baby!  She is growing up so quick and she gets the most joy out of helping out her Mommy and Daddy in whatever task we will allow!

Helping Daddy push the cart!

Helping mow the lawn for the first time on the new tractor!

Even, oh so carefully, helping to hold her new best friend Sloan!

I remember writing posts along the way in which I found myself wanting to push the pause button on how fast she is growing up...this is one of those times!  We are both having so much fun with her right now that I would be content if she stayed in this stage a little longer!

St. Patty's Day Fun!

This St. Patrick's Day found us spending the beautiful day with friends!  With the beautiful weather we have been having it was a treat to spend our St. Patty's Day in short sleeves and enjoying the sunshine!  Who would have thought in March we would be having 80 degree weather?!  We'll take it!

A mischevious little leprechaun had visited the Holub home while the kids slept and left some evidence behind including green footprints and some treasures for the kids!  It was so sweet of Brad and Amber to include the other kiddos in the fun!

Little Leprechauns!

The girls had been planning this get together for awhile, so we took to the web to find things such as recipes and crafts for all of us to enjoy.  We decided to try a pickle recipe that mimics fried pickles, but without the frying, they were delicious!!!  Better than anything in a restaurant!  And Amber surprised us with this cute little appetizer to continue with the St. Patty's Day theme!  Yummy!

There is a pot of gold w/ this rainbow!

As I mentioned above, the weather was so nice, we grilled for dinner and even the kiddos were able to enjoy their dinner under the stars while the Daddy's enjoyed the patio and a few cold ones!

We had gotten so wrapped up in everything else we almost forgot to do the craft.  There was some research done to pick the right springtime/St. Patrick's Day craft and we ended up choosing to make homemade fireflies!

Cute crafters!

Decorating the wings!

The final product!

Shaking my firefly with my purple glow stick inside!

The kids were excited to take their new creations outside and watch them glow!  It is so much fun to do these little activities with them, before we know it they won't need our help at all.  By the time we realized it, it was 10:30 and we had four very tired little ones, it was time to go home.  Our drive home was rather quiet with a little girl snoozin' in the backseat in the glow of her firefly!

Sleeping Arrangements!

In Lila's short little life she has had a few different sleeping arrangements...

Hospital accommodations!

Her first few weeks at home in Mommy & Daddy's room!

Snug as a bug in her crib!

Her bed has been a constant.  For almost three years she has laid her sweet head down in her crib.  Night after night we tucked her in and every morning we look over the side of the crib and she would smile up at you welcoming another day!

We knew that it was time to make the transition from her crib to a big girl bed, but we didn't quite know the best way to go about it.  Do we convert her crib to the toddler bed that it can become or do we just pull the band-aid off and convert it all the way to the full bed?

We decided a month or so ago that we would go ahead and just jump from the crib to the "big girl" bed.  We had all of the pieces needed to make the conversion, it was just a matter of time.  When was she ready?  More importantly...when were Mom and Dad ready?!  For some reason her bed was kind of hard for me.  I feel like it was almost like a security blanket, for all of us.  Lila feels safe, it is truly the only bed she knows.  The sides wrap around her as to protect her from the world outside.  For Mike and I it was much of the same thing.  She never climbed the sides, always respecting the boundaries of the four sides, we knew she was safe and sound.

What kind of adjustments would a new bed bring?  We were about to find out!  Lila took her last nap in her crib this afternoon and then, with her blessing, Daddy broke her crib down and turned it into a bed...a bed that seems VERY large, might I add!

Saying goodbye!

One last go around!

Her bedding came as a gift this Christmas from my Mom!  I have to admit, I was pretty excited to see it all put together, but I didn't know that my emotions would soon get the best of me when it was all there right in front of me, the tears fell!  How can our baby girl be growing up so quickly?

A bed fit for a princess!

And here is that princess...

happy as can be...

loving every second of growing up!

Sweet dreams Lila Louise!

There wasn't even the slightest bit of a fight tonight when we put you to bed, not a peep, you were so brave as you closed your sleepy eyes!  We hit a milestone tonight...you are turning into the most amazing little girl!  As excited as we are for you, please don't grow-up too fast!  We love you!

Beautiful Soul

Mike and I are unbelievably blessed that we have the most amazing friends, friends that have crossed the line from average friendship to family.  Some of our most favorite people are our friends and two of those favorites have so much to celebrate this week!

Scott and Racquel welcomed their sweet baby girl to the world on Wednesday!  After being a week overdue, it was time...Quel was a true warrior and worked hard, but as all of us mother's know the pain and discomfort quickly fades away the second that beautiful soul is placed in your arms!

Congratulations Scott and Racquel!  Sloan is a beautiful representation of your love for one another!  We couldn't be more excited for the adventures that lie ahead of you and to watch our little girls grow-up together...creating a friendship that lasts a lifetime!  XOXOXO!
